Dental disease can lead to issues with the heart, liver, and kidneys along with spreading bacteria through the blood stream. It is a fact that 80 percent of dogs and 70 percent of cats have some form of dental disease. Dental disease is the leading health issue in our pet population.
Despite these factors most owners are unaware of the importance for dental disease and dental care. Improvement of dental hygiene, include home brushing, dental chews and regular exams.
Dental exams should be done on a 6 month to yearly basis. The American Veterinary Dental Society recommends dental cleanings under anesthesia starting at the age of 2 years.
Our dental package includes pre-anesthetic blood work, cleaning, and full mouth radiographs. We will assess the need for oral surgery and make recommendations accordingly.
